About Us

Founded in 2017 by Hrvoje Hanže-Hanzlin, H3 Studio is a Croatian architecture and interior design practice built around a simple conviction: a project is only worth doing if it is done properly, from the first sketch to the last detail.

We work across contemporary architecture and interior design, delivering complete projects in partnership with a trusted network of associates and contractors — and we keep upgrading how we work, so every project benefits from the best current thinking, not last decade's habits.

We are not interested in safe, generic solutions. Every site, brief and client is different, and we design accordingly — bold where boldness serves the project, quiet where restraint does.

Hrvoje founded H3 Studio in 2017 and has led every project the studio has taken on since. His approach starts from listening, understanding what a client actually needs, not just what they arrived with, and he is often willing to challenge a finished brief when a better solution is possible.

Clients describe a process that isn't afraid to "flip the paper over" and start again when it serves the project, paired with a hands-on presence through design, documentation and delivery.

If you are only here to get your papers for a permit, or you already have the plans, you are in the wrong place.

Insights

What makes a good architectural project?
A good project starts with a clear understanding of how someone will actually live in that space, not with a formula applied from the outside. It carefully balances the site, the light, the budget and the client's real needs. From the first sketch to the final detail, it holds together as a single, coherent idea.
How does the design process work?
Every project moves through the same core stages: first contact, concept, design development, documentation, realization and final detailing. The pace and depth of each stage depend on the scope and complexity of the project. A full breakdown of the process is available below.
What should you know before starting a project?
Come to us with your real needs and constraints, not a finished plan you feel attached to. The best results usually come from being open to a concept being questioned and reworked along the way. Budget, timeline and site conditions all shape what's possible, so it helps to have them on the table early.
How do we approach materials and details?
Materials are chosen to serve the concept, not to decorate it after the fact. Texture, light and finish are considered from the earliest design stages rather than added at the end. The goal is a space where every detail feels inevitable, not applied.

Let's create something together.

Tell us about your project.
