A contemporary interpretation of the archetypal A-frame house form**
In the glamping resort project near Ogulin, we wanted to interpret the spirit of the local environment in a contemporary way. Since the site is surrounded by beautiful nature; forest, lake, and Mount Klek, we chose not to maximize development density, but instead to design a concept that enables a strong connection with nature while providing high-quality accommodation and amenities that offer relaxation, peace, and privacy to guests.
In the architecture of the cabins, we drew inspiration from the recognizable archetype of Gorski Kotar houses, the so-called A-frame form. Instead of a traditional stone base, the structure blends naturally into the terrain and follows its slope, creating additional space for a barbecue area and storage. We elevated the cabins on wooden stilts to minimize the impact on the land and preserve a sense of harmonious integration with the surroundings. Thanks to their position on the hillside, each cabin enjoys a beautiful view of the nearby Sabljaci Lake.
This project represents an example of how contemporary wooden architecture can be seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape of Gorski Kotar, creating a unique experience of staying in nature.
